The Spirituality of Dreams
by Dave Lappin
In the years that I have been interpreting dreams, I have realized the importance of the spirituality of dreams. Our dreams speak to us first on a spiritual level about our waking thoughts and attitudes. We’ve heard the saying that “we are not physical beings having a spiritual experience, rather we are spiritual beings having a physical experience.” As souls we incarnate this earth plane for learning and growth. Thus our dreams reflect the learning and growth that has taken place through our dreams on a nightly basis.
Like a daily status report, our dreams reflect back to us what has occurred in our waking minds. Once the dreamer has interpreted the dream message it is the their responsibility to use the message and decide what action or actions need to take place, if any, for there to be further growth.
Our dreams are one way that allow us to unlock the Kingdom Within. This vast store house of knowledge is always at our disposal waiting to be used. If our dreams sound like a broken record sometimes, via recurring dreams, it is because we have not fully understood the dream message and used it in our waking state.
Almost every morning, my wife and I discuss our dreams from the night before. It is exciting to get feedback and see how the dream relates to our lives. It’s like an “aha” moment for us. It’s a moment of understanding how directly the inner self communicates through its universal dream symbology.
Our dreams are truly like a best friend who tells us like it is. The dream message being communicated will either pat us on the back or kick us in the rear to prompt us to action. In essence, our dreams can be our own best motivator in life. They can be like a loving parent letting us know how much we grown.
When you view you dream from a spiritual perspective, you will gain the knowledge and understanding intended from the dream. All the knowledge we need is within us and dreams is one way of tapping into that knowledge. You will be much farther ahead in life when you use your dreams for self-understanding and development. No one knows better than the inner self in guiding you to where you want to be.
So view your dreams as if they were a road map, because that is exactly what they are. If you don't like where you're at on the path in life, you can change your direction the next day.
